Decagrams
Decagrams are 10-pointed stars.
There are 3 versions:
- Two discontinuous pentagons – connect every other corner (skip 1 corner)
- Decagonal star – connect every 3rd corner (skip 2)
- Two discontinuous pentagrams – connect ever 4th corner (skip 3)
The Decad in Nature
The cross-section of DNA is decagonal.
Quasi-crystals reveal five fold symmetry and underlying long range order.
The Decad is found within the Passion Flower, Mountain laurel (10-point geometry within 5 petals) and Rose.
It is also found in the geometry of Citrus fruits (grapefruit, lemon, orange & lime) and certain pumpkins.
It is also found in the geometry of some sea lilies.
We see the Decad represented by lobster & crayfish with 10 walking legs each.

The Decagon in Art
As we saw with the Octad, the Decad is popular in Islamic tiling.
The 10-fold geometry symbolizes the regeneration and fulfillment of enlightened humanity.

Adam & Eve find themselves expelled into a new beginning beyond the gate of the 10 pointed circle of Paradise.
The circle is inscribed within a square, implying that Paradise is imbedded and hidden within material manifestation.
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine – New York, NY
The design was overseen by 5 architects.
A cathedral was built from the ground up, but is meant to be viewed as descending from heaven above, hanging down from the sky.
The length is 601 feet – the number 601 related to the word “cosmos” or “orderly universe”.
