Having discussed love in detail in the previous article, we will now discuss the concept of service, particularly in the spiritual sense of serving the greatest good, or serving our fellow humankind.  This service to the greatest good is also the best service to ourselves.  We are not left out of the positive results when we serve the greatest good.

Service

“There is but one service.

The Law is One.

The offering of self to Creator is the greatest service, the unity, the fountainhead.

The entity who seeks the One Creator is with infinite intelligence.

From this seeking, from this offering, a great multiplicity of opportunities will evolve depending upon the mind/body/spirit complexes’ distortions with regard to the various illusory aspects or energy centers of the various complexes of your illusion.

Thus, some become healers, some workers, some teachers, and so forth.”1

Service or Teaching Others (Teach/Learn)

“We state that indeed it is the only activity worth doing: to learn/teach or teach/learn.

There is nothing else which is of aid in demonstrating the original thought except your very being, and the distortions that come from the unexplained, inarticulate, or mystery-clad being are many.

Thus, to attempt to discern and weave your way through as many group mind/body/spirit distortions as possible among your peoples in the course of your teaching is a very good effort to make.

We can speak no more valiantly of your desire to serve.

To learn is the same as to teach unless you are not teaching what you are learning; in which case you have done you/them little good.

The few whom you will illuminate by sharing your light are far more than enough reason for the greatest possible effort.

To serve one is to serve all.

If you choose to serve and you are called, serve with all your strength.

However, to count the numbers [reached or helped] is without virtue.

If you serve, so will you grow, but serve always with love and understanding.”2

Seeking the Heart of Self in order to Better Serve

“The understanding, experiencing, accepting, and merging of self with self and other-self, and finally with the Creator, is the path to the heart of self.

In each infinitesimal part of yourself resides the One in all of Its power.

Therefore, we can only encourage these lines of contemplation or prayer as a means of subjectively/objectively using or combining various understandings to enhance the seeking process.”3

Can you look beyond what your eyes are showing you, to find and express Love and Happiness in a world of Fear and Distress? If you can, you will be as a Beacon of Light into the Darkness.

Will you succumb to the Darkness, or will you stand and shine your Divine Inner Light? Only you can make that decision for yourself.

Gauging Your Spiritual Development

Your Spiritual development, like all other aspects of your progression, is something that you have to work for. How do you know if your newly discovered ‘truth’ is really True, if you’re never tested on it?

The test is this:  In the face of a challenge, who do you trust?

Do you trust what the “outside world” is showing you?

Or, do you hold fast to that which “feels” like Truth, deep within you?

As for now, there is a simple method to check upon your progress.

Despite what “appears” to be going on in “the world at large”, how loving and harmonious are your personal relationships?

Remember that the world is your mirror casting back at you the reflection of that which you have projected into it.

How many arguments do you find yourself engaging in?  Is there bitterness and acrimony within the ranks?

Do you look at others, and think about how you would like to change them? Or, do you love them, and accept them as they are?

Loving and accepting someone for who they are is known as Unconditional Love.

Now, loving and accepting someone as they are does not mean accepting abusive behavior.

But, it does mean loving and accepting the person (Soul), not the Soul’s behavior. The behavior is not “who they are”, the Soul within, is who they are.

The quality of your relationships is an excellent mirror from which to gauge the quality of your output. Or, in other words, that which you are creating.

Do you look at a person and concentrate to a greater or lesser extent, upon the things that you dislike about them and wish would change, or the qualities that you like and admire in them?

Remember, all thought, word, and deed, is Creative.

You get back exactly what you send out.

So, when you send out the thought “Why is she so hard to live with? Why is he always behaving like this?  Ask yourself, what exactly are you doing?

Now focus here, as this is so obvious, you could miss it. And in fact, most do.

Take away the “question” from your sentence, and essentially, you are saying: “She is so hard to live with”. “He is always behaving like this”.

Do you see what you are doing?

Remember, All thought is creative.

You have just created the very behavior in that person that you wish to change simply because you do not understand the Law of Radiation and Attraction.

Now, try an experiment:

Take someone in your life, that you love, but sometimes have trouble getting along with.

Think, about the thoughts you have projected about that person. The Negative thoughts. Ask yourself, does the behavior that you do not like in that person, in any way correspond to the thoughts you have been having about them? If you’re honest with yourself, it’s a strong bet that it does.

Sure, they must have behaved that way in the first place to make you notice that you didn’t like it, but we all have off days sometimes.

The more you focus on that behavior, the more you are going to see of it. It’s just Life, doing what it does, and conforming to your expectations about the way it will be for you.

Now, having recognized this, what will you do about it?

Simply notice your Negative thoughts as they arise, literally, “catch yourself” as you are having them. And then, simply change your perspective.

Focus instead, about the things you like about this person. How you love their smile, the sound of their happy laughter; the way they do such and such nice thing, how helpful and loving they can be.

Keep putting those positive thoughts out.

Persevere, as you may have a bit of negative work to undo first, but just keep catching yourself, and focusing on the positive.

Then prepare yourself for an “almost magical” transformation of your circumstances.

Helping Others Become Aware – Best Methods for Service

“It is impossible to help another being directly.

It is only possible to make catalyst available in whatever form, the most important being the radiation of realization of oneness with the Creator from the self, less important being information such as we share with you.

We encourage a dispassionate attempt to share information without concern for numbers or quick growth among others.

That you attempt to make information available is, in your terms, your service.

The attempt, if it reaches one, reaches all.

We cannot offer shortcuts to enlightenment.

Enlightenment is, of the moment, an opening to intelligent infinity.

It can only be accomplished by the self, for the self.

Another self cannot teach/learn enlightenment, but only teach/learn information, inspiration, or a sharing of love, of mystery, of the unknown that makes the other-self reach out and begin the seeking process that ends in a moment, but who can know when an entity will open the gate to the present?

The best way of service to others is the constant attempt to seek to share the love of the Creator as it is known to the inner self.

This involves self-knowledge and the ability to open the self to the other-self without hesitation.

This involves radiating that which is the essence or the heart of the mind/body/spirit complex.

The best way for each seeker in third density to be of service to others is unique to that mind/body/spirit complex. This means that the mind/body/spirit complex must then seek within itself the intelligence of its own discernment as to the way it may best serve other-selves.

This will be different for each. There is no best. There is no generalization. Nothing is known.

What would be an improper distortion with one entity is proper with another.

We can suggest an attempt to become aware of the other-self as self and thus do that action which is needed by other-self, understanding from the other-self’s intelligence and awareness.

However, it is a delicate matter to be of service, and compassion, sensitivity, and an ability to empathize are helpful in avoiding the distortions of man-made intelligence and awareness.

At present, the condition of well-meant and unintentional slavery are so numerous that it beggars our ability to enumerate them.

This is key!  There are many who in their attempt to ‘help’ are actually attempting to control.  At this point offering service becomes an attempt, however unintentional, to enslave.

To those who wish not to learn, who wish to sleep, you can only offer those comforts designed for sleeping.

Service is only possible to the extent it is requested.

To repeat:  Service is only possible to the extent it is requested.  Otherwise you will have destructive situations such as were seen in the Americas when missionaries from Portugal and Spain attempted to share Christianity with indigenous peoples and instead of sharing the love and freedom of the lessons of Jesus they created great destruction, violence and enslavement.

If you try to serve someone who does not want it you are in effect trying to manipulate them to change to your personal liking.  This can border on fascism.

“Good works for the wrong reasons cause confusion and distortion. We encourage all to value themselves and to see that its true requirements are valued by the self. We suggest contemplation of true richness of being.”4

Selfless service is service offered without any ulterior self-centered motivation.  Such an attitude of service is grounded in genuine and affirming love for others and the world.

The most important thing, is not to force things, and not to be so impassioned in your delivery of your message, that you put people off the content of the message itself.

There is a balance that needs to be found, between your urgency to awaken others, and your compassion for the lack of understanding in their “condition”.

Always adhere to the Law of Free Will, and never force your message.

In getting your message out there, whilst being informative, always do your best not to feed the fear and paranoia, as this will act contrary to your intentions of raising the vibration to Positive.

Deliver your message in a way that emphasizes the Hope, and the true beauty and reality of our inherent Oneness with our Infinite Creator.

Be as a Light, shining in the Darkness. Do not burn others with your light, but rather, allow them to be drawn to your Light, and be of Service to those who come to you willingly.

In other words, do not become ‘evangelical’ with your message, but rather, be the enigmatic and loving ‘wise old sage’, to whom others are drawn to because of the Quality of his vibration, rather than the volume of his rhetoric.

Most importantly, PRACTICE THAT WHICH YOU PREACH. Others must be able to see the effect of our Infinite Creator conducting its wonderful work through you.

Hypocrisy is ugly and destructive beyond description.  You must practice what you preach – or else don’t bother preaching.

Helping the World and Others

“Only when you operate from your own stance can you help others to the best of your ability.

To anticipate danger, or to imaginatively take on the troubles of others robs you of the very energy with which you could help them.

I am not saying to turn your eyes from the unfortunate conditions of the world.  Practical help is needed in all areas of the human life.

Yet it is far better, and more practical ultimately, to concentrate upon the beneficial elements of civilization – far better to organize your thoughts in areas of accomplishment than to make mental lists of man’s deficiencies and lacks.

Such a practice leads to feelings of helplessness and hopelessness, in which effective action seems impossible.

Life possesses an exuberance.  If this is cherished, nurtured, encouraged, then additional energy is generated that is not needed for the purposes of daily private life – a superabundance, that can be effectively directed in those areas of the world where help is most needed.

The strength, vitality, and effectiveness of thought are seldom considered.  Thought, you may say, will not stop a war – yet what do you think started such a war?

Despite all appearances, conditions of an exterior nature do not cause wars, or poverty, or disease, or any of the unfortunate circumstances apparent in the world.

Your thoughts generate practical experience.  When these change, conditions will change.

To add your own energy, focus, and concentration to dire circumstances in other portions of the world does not help, but adds to, such situations.

To close your eyes to them in an ignorant fashion, to wash your hands of them, so to speak, is equally shortsighted.

To pretend such situations do not exist, out of fear of them, will only bring the feared reality closer.

It is far better to situate yourself firmly in your own reality, acknowledge it as your own, encourage your strength and creativity, and from that vantage point view those areas of the world or of your own society that need constructive help.

Purposefully in your own life, in your daily dialogues with others, in your relationships through your groups or clubs, reinforce as well as you can the strength and abilities of others.

That reinforcement will add to the personal power of all other individuals with whom those people come in contact.

If everyone was able to assess his or her own reality realistically there would be no need to arm a nation in advance against another nation’s anticipated – but imaginary – attack.

Personal grudges would not build up, so that men or women so fear further hurts that they attempt to hide from life or relationships, or shy away from contact with others.

It is not virtuous to count your failings.

Self-conscious righteousness can be a very narrow road.

If each of you understood and perceived the graceful integrity of your own individuality, just as you try to perceive the beauty of all other natural creatures, then you would allow your own creativity greater reign.

There is order in all elements of nature, and you are a part of it.”5

How to Serve One whom You do not agree With

“All are the Creator.

There is one vast panoply of biases and distortions, colors and hues, in an unending pattern.

In the case of those with whom you are not in resonance, you wish them love, light, peace, joy, and bid them well.

No more than this can you do.

You do not need to be a part of their life.  You do not need to spend time with them or attempt a relationship.  You wish them well on their journey and you go your separate ways.  There should never be any guilt in this expression of freedom.

You may see in many cases the loving balance being achieved, the love being offered, light being sent, and the service of the negatively oriented entity gratefully acknowledged while being rejected as not being useful in your journey at this time.

Thus you serve One Creator without paradox.

The closer an entity is to balance, the more each situation will not have an emotional charge but will be seen simply as a situation in which the entity may or may not observe an opportunity to be of service.”6

Acceleration of Service

Exercise One:  The moment contains love.

That is the lesson/goal of this illusion or density.

The exercise is to consciously see that love in awareness and understanding distortions. The first attempt is the cornerstone. Upon this choosing rests the remainder of the life-experience of an entity.

Exercise Two: The universe is one being.

When a mind/body/spirit complex views another mind/body/spirit complex, see the Creator. This is an helpful exercise.

Exercise Three: Gaze within a mirror. See the Creator.

Exercise Four: Gaze at the creation which lies about the mind/body/spirit complex of each entity. See the Creator.

The foundation or prerequisite of these exercises is a predilection towards what may be called meditation, contemplation, or prayer.

With this attitude, these exercises can be processed. Without it, the data will not sink down into the roots of the tree of mind, thus enabling and ennobling the body and touching the spirit.”7
